The Facebook announced on
Tuesday (27), which changed the way people interact in its chat service, theFacebook Messenger. From now on, when people are contacted by
strangers, you will receive a prompt to allow the conversation to continue. This means the end of the message box
"Other", which used to house this type of contact. With the change, users will be able to
chat with the Messenger even those who are not in your contact list.
The change only affects users not in contact
list. Facebook friends and people
who have the phone number of each other smartphones on the agendas will
continue communicating normally.
For all other cases, a confirmation containing the message and
asking if the user wants to allow communication appears. The sender in turn, will only receive
a read receipt after this step is accepted.
In practice, this means
that everything a person needs to contact you is your name. Until now, when someone received a message from a stranger, she was
sent to the "Other" folder, which could only be accessed the desktop
version of the social network, preventing people to communicate easily.
The
update promises to facilitate contact between Facebook users, but this does not
mean that social networking plan to relax in its fight against spam, says the
vice president of messengers David Marcus. "This may seem like a minor change, but it is a fundamental
development "he says.
The news is already
being implemented in the social network and should be available for all users
within a few days.
